ONU50 is a combined optical-RF converter and indoor distribution amplifier for use at building entrances in Cable TV (CATV) networks (FTTB/HFC), where fiber lines extend to building entrances.
The forward (downstream) optical signals transmitted over the Fiber Optic line are filled in accordance with the coaxial network inside the building and turned into the RF signal; It enables the conversion of upstream RF signals coming from terminals such as cable modems in the building and used for interactive applications into optical signals.
